Red Lobster Is Trying To "Catch" You!

During lunch at the Red Lobster in Salt Lake City, the boss approached and offered a beautiful, full, color brochure....16 Pages!

Yes, sixteen pages, in full color that described the Red Lobster experience, but, can you guess what they the real purpose of the brochure was?

Flounder

Remember, this was a full color, 16-page brochure. With no address of their nationwide locations, no phone numbers, no photos of the Ceo, no pictures of their buildings....

....just easy messages:

* Share the booth

* Share the flounder

* Share the radicchio

* Share the wet-naps

* Share the seven seas

* Share the love

Share...love....what is this about? How does this connect to a restaurant? What's going on? Obviously, my marketing interest was piqued, so I prolonged reading until the last page revealed the answer.

And, that was the last topic: Share the connection!

The whole full-color, 16-page brochure was to promote....

....Their Website!

Yes, they were introducing their web site and wanted you to visit and subscribe to the Overboard Club!

Powerful. Emotional. Impactful.

Is there a "Red Lobster" styled marketing strategy in your future? If you have a website, how do you promote it? Do you have a marketing communications piece just to highlight your website? Or do you "hope:" that people will find your site and then come to be a patient?

Does your website offer a subscription to a ezine or eLetter on health and wellness? Should it? Yes or yes? Do you have article that can be read or downloaded for a wide-range of health associated topics? Do you have a blog for patients to post their questions or comments about health care and your brand of chiropractic in particular. Do you have a inspect or quiz for visitors to participate?

Interestingly, people will remember a website address easier than your telephone number. So, promote your website extensively. Put it on all your marketing communications material from billboards to firm cards.

Maybe you don't need a 16-page brochure to promote your website, but I bet you can do a great job of promoting it to your patients and the people in your marketplace.
